Enhancing Data Democracy The CSIR adopted Data Democracy as its flagship project for its tenure as the Chair of CEOS 2008. Data Democracy encompasses clearly defined objectives that can be measured and quantified in terms of real benefit to South Africa, the region and developing countries in general. Plenary Objectives Every year in November, CEOS agency members convene for the most significant event of the CEOS calendar, the plenary. The primary objectives of the meeting are three-fold: First, to review progress on implementation of the space segment of the GEOSS and other CEOS tasks. Secondly it is to plan the way forward. Thirdly it is to hand over the Chair to the incoming Chair designate. Invitation It is in this context that the CSIR extends an invitation to CEOS members to the CEOS plenary 2008, to be held at the Fancourt in George, South Africa.
